The Ultimate Philly Cheesesteak – Juicy, Cheesy & Better Than Takeout!

Recipe

Philly Cheesesteak is one of America’s most iconic sandwiches. Thinly sliced beef, caramelized onions, melted provolone cheese, and a toasted hoagie roll come together to create an incredibly juicy and flavorful meal that’s surprisingly easy to make at home.

Ingredients

1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 large onion, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced (optional)

8 slices provolone cheese

2 hoagie rolls

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp vegetable oil

Salt

Black pepper

Garlic powder

Instructions

Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook the onions (and bell peppers if using) until soft and lightly caramelized.

Season the sliced steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add it to the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned.

Mix the onions with the beef.

Lay provolone slices over the meat and let them melt completely.

Toast the hoagie rolls with a little butter.

Fill each roll with the cheesy steak mixture and serve immediately while hot.
